New Open Source project - PBJ
David Walend and myself have started a new Open Source project named Presentation Builder for Java (PBJ for short).
To quote Dave:
PBJ is a presentation tool. First, it’s a knock-off of PowerPoint and the like. It lets a user create slide presentations by assembling JavaBeans. Using JavaBeans lets the user create a compelling, interactive [...]

A free *NIX environment in Windows
I’ve been having a few problems with my Linux development box lately. First, networking is messed up, probably due to poor support for my Netgear Ethernet card. Second, the fan has stopped working on the box’s GeForce2 vdeo card. So I decided to try doing some programming on my brand new Windows [...]

Looks like MediaMatch does not like other vendor’s ASPI [...]

MP3 ripping support for Windows Media Player 8.0
I love ripping CDs. I really don’t actually even use CDs in the house any more - I play MP3s off of my hard drive with WinAmp (Windows) or XMMS (Linux). So far I’ve ripped the majority of my CD collection, and have roughly 5500 MP3s stored on my Linux server.
My tool [...]

Free RealOne download
Even though I’m finding fewer reasons to actually need a RealMedia player these days, there’s always the odd file/URL that requires it. My new PC did not have a copy of RealPlayer installed, so I headed over to Real’s site to grab a copy. The latest version of the player is now called [...]
