Just found an April Fools joke on Google Earth. Area 51 has some visitors.
Update: Yow – this page currently has over 2500 Diggs (and a total of over 150,000 hits!!!) and is the top Digg story of the day! Thankfully 1&1’s servers are handling the load quite well…
Update: also listed on Wikipedia and waxy.org

Awesome! Not as funny as Pigeon Rank, but it’s cool that they hid some easter eggs in Google Earth!

Wow great discovery
Don’t despair, looks like they still had some fun today …..
How come Google Earth can’t find Roswell when they have Area 51? Weird ;).
Slapo: Have you tried typing in Roswell, NM?

There was a hint posted on the Google Earth Community forum. It took me roughly 5 minutes of scanning Area 51 to find them.
Nice to have a little BBQ and clean the windshield. Good find!
“Thankfully 1&1’s servers are handling the load quite well…”
Can you also tell wich hosting plan you? Im very interested in a good hosting plan.
I have 1&1’s Linux Business plan. $9.99/month, 100 GB disk, Linux shell, 2000 email addresses, etc etc etc. So far (after 2+ years) it has been very stable, with only one or two minor issues. More info here.
