Howard Stern calls fair game on Bush

From Salon via BoingBoing:

Howard Stern is calling on his 8 million listeners (and their friends and family) to vote anti-Bush in the next election.

Stern had strongly backed Bush’s war on Iraq, but in the past two weeks, he has derided the president as a “Jesus freak,” a “maniac” and “an arrogant bastard,” while ranting against “the Christian right minority that has taken over the White House.” Specifically, Stern has assailed Bush’s use of 9/11 images in his campaign ads, questioned his National Guard service, condemned his decision to curb stem cell research and labeled him an enemy of civil liberties, abortion rights and gay rights.

You’ll remember that Howard ran for Governor of New York on the Libertarian ticket oh so many years ago. He’s dead-on in his appraisal of our soon-to-be ex-president.

Linux Sighting on Delta Song

My family just spent a week in Florida and used Delta Song airlines (highly recommended). One of the great things about Song’s planes is that they have entertainment centers built into every seat. They allow you to watch television, listen to music, or play trivia games against other passengers.

After boarding the plan, we waited for the entertainment centers to become active. After 10 minutes of blank screens, they lit up with scrolling text and strangely enough a small picture of a penguin at the top of the screen. It took a second to realize it was Redhat Linux booting up.

Very nice… :-)
